A New Parking System Has Arrived In Excelsior!
The City of Excelsior has implemented a new smart parking system. A total of 19 solar powered, wireless parking pay stations will replace the existing meters adjacent to The Commons and on the boat docks. Pay for parking will also be extended south on Lake Street and on Excelsior Boulevard. The parking stations will be operational on the week of July 18, 2016.
The street pay stations are setup for pay by plate parking where the user must enter their license plate number during the transaction. At the boat docks, the user will input their space number instead of the license number. A receipt is provided as proof of payment after each transaction. Parking payments are enforced with wireless devices so there is no need to place the receipt on the vehicle's dashboard.
The pay stations will accept coins and credit cards. Those parking will also have the option of using their mobile phones to pay for parking using the Whoosh!
mobile payment application. The Whoosh!
app can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones or from the Google Play Store for Android devices.
