[ARCHIVED] Paid Parking System on 2nd and 3rd Streets

Paid Parking

Excelsior, MN, March 3, 2021 – The City of Excelsior has announced that it is implementing a new paid parking system on Second Street between Center Street and Morse Avenue and Third Street between Center Street and Mill Street.    The paid parking system will use a platform by Premium Parking which utilizes signage to instruct parkers how they can pay for their parking session.  With this mobile payment solution, payment kiosks are not necessary limiting additional structures on the sidewalks and no added costs to the City for purchasing additional kiosks.  The signs will be installed on existing signage posts with clear instructions on the systems use.  Complimentary parking will still be available on Water Street and in the surface parking lots.

Premium Parking is partnering with the City of Excelsior to add industry leading payment solutions – TextPay®, CameraPay™ and the Premium Parking app. Visitors and residents will be able to use mobile, contactless options to quickly pay from their phone via Apple Pay, Google Pay or any credit/debit card,” stated Kirstin Erwin, Premium Parking’s Minnesota Market President.  CameraPay allows anyone with a smartphone to use their phone camera to scan a QR code to start parking and securely pay, even without downloading an app.

The free Premium Parking app is available for download on Apple and Android mobile devices. The app makes it easy for frequent parkers to pay, get reminder alerts before time expires, and the ability to extend parking sessions from anywhere.

Premium Parking is the market leader in gateless, digital parking. Premium Parking was founded in 2005 in New Orleans, LA and now operates in 40 markets and 375+ locations across the USA. The company is positioned at the intersection of parking and technology. Premium Parking takes a digital-first approach to parking, making it easier for customers and more efficient for properties and operators. Website: premiumparking.com.
