Minnesota Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a statewide effort to make it safe, convenient, and fun for all youth to walk, bike, and roll to school and in daily life. Walking or biking to, from, and during school is an easy way for students to get exercise, stay healthy, and arrive at school ready to learn.
The City of Shorewood has been awarded planning assistance from the Minnesota Department of Transportation to create a SRTS Plan for Excelsior Elementary School.
The plan is being developed throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Once complete, the plan will provide direction and recommendations on how to improve walking and biking for Excelsior Elementary students.
If you are interested in providing comments to improve walking and biking to Excelsior Elementary School please complete the online survey that can be found here.
