Parking Regulations

Apartment tenants on Water Street can park in the six-hour parking area for up to 12 hours. From Memorial Day to Labor Day no person shall park, place, or keep any vehicle in  East Municipal Parking lot for more than six hours (between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm) without moving such vehicle. The exception to this rule is the parking east of West Drive and west of East Drive designated as 180-minute parking.

From November 1 to April 30 of each year, overnight parking is only allowed in the areas signed for designated overnight parking. A handicap permit, as defined by state statute, will allow individuals with physical limitations to park in handicap parking spaces. On-street parking is available and limited to two hours.

Parking permits are available for Excelsior residents at a cost of $20 per/vehicle per/year. With a parking permit, residents are allowed to park in any Public Pay for Parking areas (see map below) without having to use the meters or Pay for Parking App.  If you are parking in a Pay for Parking area, please abide by the parking time limits.  Annual parking permits are good from January 1 through December 31. The City of Excelsior does not prorate the fee. Residents may also purchase up to five Visitor passes per year. Visitor passes are also $20.

To Apply for an annual parking permit, please fill out the Parking Permit Application and provide proof of residence with a copy of the vehicle title or current vehicle registration.
