Founded in 1853 by settlers from New York, Excelsior has long served as the cultural and commercial heart of the South Lake Minnetonka area. Visitors can enjoy a ride aboard the restored steamboat Minnehaha, which offers round trips between Excelsior and Wayzata in the summer. You can also step back in time with a visit to the Excelsior streetcar and local museum.
